Inaugural Wellness Week Winners!
Inaugural Wellness Week Winners!
Congratulations to Spy Valley Wines, who have taken out the first “Marlborough Wine Industry Workplace Wellbeing Impact Award”! The entire Spy Valley team, from vineyard to winery, connected over Taco Tuesday and an exclusive preview of the 2023 vintage straight from the tanks & barrels. This seemingly simple initiative covered several aspects of the Five Ways to Wellbeing, was nourishing on multiple levels, and the judges applauded its inclusivity and accessibility. Taco Tuesday is an excellent example showcasing that supporting wellbeing in the workplace does not need to be complicated or costly.
The judges commended all the Wellness Week participants and noted the significant activations that were taking place across the wine industry and the leadership our industry is showing on wellbeing. They were pleased with the focus on physical activity, which was demonstrated in several entries, and paired with other aspects of wellbeing in entries such as wetland planting and walk and talk meetings. The judges also highlighted the role of fun and play in wellbeing, which came through in entries such as chalk drawing and rock hunting.
Another award was created by the judges who could not look past the leadership shown by Yealands, awarding them the “Marlborough Wine Industry Workplace Wellbeing Leadership Award”. The judges emphasised that big gains come from lots of small things that can be sustained over time, and it was clear from their video entry that the team at Yealands have really embedded this in their workplace and organisational culture. Yealands showcased significant initiatives that underpin wellbeing, alongside small things that are easily overlooked.
Congratulations to Spy Valley Wines and Yealands, inaugural Wellness Week winners!
